A beautiful day in Paris

We walked a lot today. By Geof's calculation about 13 km and my feet feel every one of those steps. However it was a nice sunny day and very comfortable. We saw a lot of sights and ate some of the local treats including macarons, pastries, and crepes - should break even calorie wise....

We started at the Louvre as seen below with Deen and Jessie

Then we headed into Le Jardin des Tuileries where you can see all the way up to La Place de la Concorde and beyond to L'Arc de Triomphe. All very spectacular.

Casey in Le Jardin des Tuileries.

The Luxor Obelisk in La Place de Concorde. No guillotines in sight.

Up L'Avenue des Champs-Elysees. I have no idea who these people are but very crowded.

L'Arc de Triomphe. Traffic in the roundabout was something to see but light because it's a Saturday.

We went to the top of L'Arc for some photos. My legs were burning by the time we made it to the top. But some great photo opps. Montmartre in the distance.

Looking back along the Champs Elysees towards the Louvre.

From here we went over to the Trocadero for some photos of the Eiffel Tower. We are doing the Tower this coming Friday.

We headed back along the Seine and crossed to the Right Bank at Le Pont Alexandre III. It too is spectacular.

The two wandering Canadians. On the bridge we saw 4 brides and grooms having photos taken. Casey and Jessie were disappointed we were on the opposite side from them.

Tomorrow we have arranged a tour to Versailles.
